A showcase of Italian style
Once again, QVC are broadcasting live from Italy during the Vicenza Spring Gold Fair. One of the largest jewellery fairs in the world, it features fine jewellery from designers all around the world, with the emphasis on gold jewellery from Italian designers.
We've a special three-hour gold show from 9pm to 12am on Tuesday 15th May, and for the very first time we'll also be featuring silver, in a new two-hour show from 9am to 11am on the same day.
More about the Vicenza Fair
What is Vicenza Oro?
There are three jewellery fairs held yearly in the city of Vicenza in northern Italy. The winter fair in January sets the styles that will be popular for the following year, the spring fair in May establishes the progression of these styles into the later months of the year, and the autumn fair in September gives us a sneak peek at the hot looks for the next year.
So who shows their jewellery there?
Designers from anywhere in the world exhibit there, but the majority jewellery comes from the artisans of the Italian workshops. Italian jewellery has long been regarded as some of the very best in the world, and is prized for its intricate styling and fine attention to detail.
Is it just a gold fair?
The Vicenza fair is a brilliant showcase for all kinds of fine and gemset jewellery. With white metals are becoming evermore popular, there are more designers exhibiting both silver and platinum collections with all the hand-worked skill and detailing of gold jewellery. However, gold is still king at the fairs, and is proving to be as well-loved as ever.
